The Practice

The primary aim of this Osteopathic practice is to improve the musculo-skeletal health of the patient using a variety of manual Osteopathic techniques and active patient participation. Advice and patient education regarding their body, posture, ergonomics and exercise will be offered. Similarly the patient is consulted at each stage of the musculo-skeletal diagnosis and treatment and their expectations, concerns and abilities are taken into consideration.

Osteopathic Treatment

Appointment duration and cost:

Initial appointments are 60 minutes long. All follow up appointments are 30 minutes long. 60 minute follow up appointments are available on request. A 60 minute follow up appointment is double the cost of a 30 minute follow up appointment.

ACC only covers a portion of treatment costs so you will be required to pay the difference.


A standard Adult appointment:
First appointment (60minutes): $90
Follow up appointments (30minutes): $75

An Adult appointment subsidised by ACC:
First appointment (60minutes): $60
Follow up appointments (30minutes): $45

A standard Baby or Child appointment:
First appointment (60minutes): $70
Follow up appointments (30minutes): $55

A Baby or Child appointment subsidised by ACC:
First appointment (60minutes): $50
Follow up appointments (30minutes): $35


Osteopathic treatments and ACC:

Osteopaths can lodge a claim with ACC if your injury is a direct result of a specific event or a series of events that:

  • involves the application of a force (including gravity), or resistance external to the human body
  • involves the sudden movement of the body to void force or resistance external to the body
  • or involves a twisting movement of the body

Number of appointments required:

Most patients are seen an average of 4 - 6 times but this depends on the type and duration of the injury. Importance is placed on improving musculo-skeletal health as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

Osteopathic Treatment

Payment:

Appointments are paid for on the day of the treatment. Eftpos, credit card, cash or cheques are accepted.

Cancelled appointments:

Your co-operation in giving as much notice of canceled appointments as possible is requested. A fee of $30 may be charged if 24 hours notice of cancellation is not given.

Insurance:

Most Insurance companies will offer a rebate on Osteopathic treatment costs. Please check with your provider.

Referrals:

No referral is necessary to attend the clinic.
